"Red Flag" GCPs

"Red Flag" GCPs

New “Red Flag” GCP Capability in DatuBIM

Ground Control Points (GCPs) anchor the drone-based 3D model to real-world coordinates. But sometimes they’re blocked or missing (e.g., faded marks or the likes). In DatuBIM, you can now mark these problematic GCPs with a Red Flag to:
  1. Exclude them from model processing.

  2. Notify the surveyor team to re-mark and re-measure them.

How It Works

  • Right-click on a GCP in the GCP List or use the “Red Flag” button in the GCP marking window to mark it.

  • The GCP’s icon will change to a red flag icon: .

  • Export the list of GCPs (from the overlay menu on the main screen) to a CSV, and all flagged GCPs will be named with a leading R_
    for easy identification.

This feature ensures only accurate GCPs are used for processing, saving time and improving model reliability.
