Latest innovations - February 2024

1. Share direct link to any object

Any object in DatuBIM can now have a direct shareable link - designs, measurements, analytics, annotations, filtered areas, reports, flights, and sites (always leading to the 'latest' flight). Just open the 3-dots menu of any object to find the new share option!

2. Annotations

DatuBIM has now new and enhanced annotations capabilities. It now allows assignment to a specific team member, categorization by types, adding due dates, receiving alerts by email, commenting, drawing on model to emphasize and pinpoint issues, linking to any other object in DatuBIM (like measurements, design files, etc.), and 2-way synchronization with Procore's observations, among other features. Detailed information will be published soon, meanwhile DatuBIM's dedicated support team is in a distance of an email.

3. View 3D designs with properties

DatuBIM now supports the presentation of properties for any item in an IFC 3D model. DWG 3D design files can also be overlaid in DatuBIM. Stay tuned for further exciting updates on 3D designs to be published in the coming months! Below is an example showcasing the properties of a base slab, with the model set to transparency to highlight the underground features:

4. Elevation grid and heatmap report

This new report has just joined DatuBIM's growing collection of professional reports. It serves as an essential tool in civil engineering for visualizing site conditions with color-coded data. Leveraged by DatuBIM, this report simplifies complex information, making it easier to identify elevation trends and key project insights. More information can be found here. Below is an example of its first page:

5. Road-design station naming scheme

The Cross Section Volume professional report has now 3 options to choose for the stations' naming scheme. Below is an example from the road-design setup card:

6. Custom gradient

A custom gradient is now available in the Volume Grid and Heatmap professional report allowing precise control over the presentation and emphasizing what really matters. Custom gradient control is available also in the Delta Elevation analytic tool and the flight's heatmap overlay. Here is an example of the gradient control:

7. Upload multiple design files in a single step

This is a small but time-saving improvement - multiple design files can now be selected and uploaded to DatuBIM in a single step. An image worth 1000 words (though not designs):
